REGISTRATION
1. How do I become a member of KITARecycle?
Sign-up online at: www.kitarecycle.com or via the KITARecycle App which can be downloaded from Apple Store and Google Play Store.
2. How much does it cost to be a member of KITARecycle?
Membership is free, however the programme is only available for those residing in the Malaysian Peninsular states of Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Johor.
3. Is there any minimum requirement set for number of membership sign-ups in any residential areas before the members from the area could enjoy the full benefits of the KITARecycle programme?
No minimum membership sign-up limit is required for any residential area. However, high membership and volume areas could potentially enjoy enhanced facilities such as local placement of recycling collection cages for their convenience in dropping off recyclable items at any time.
4. Does the KITARecycle membership expires?
Membership with KITARecycle is free for life. However, with effective from 2024, all new recycling points (RP) earned under the programme have a 2-year validity from date of transaction captured into the system. The points will expire on a ‘first in-first out’ basis upon reaching two(2)years from when the points were awarded. For example, RPs collected on 1st January 2024 will expire on 1st January 2026.
5. I am a user of the previous KITAR3cycle app and unable to log-in to the new KITARecycle portal. What do I do? Do I need to register for a new KITARecycle account?
Users of the previous KITAR3cycle platform with complete and accurate information such as full name (as per I/C), mobile number and authentic email account have been automatically migrated into the new KITARecycle platform with all valid transactions from the KITAR3cycle platform.
An email verification triggered using the valid email address which you have used to sign up to the KITAR3cycle platform would have enabled you to access the new KITARecycle portal. However if any of the details provided when you signed up to the KITAR3cycle platform needs to be updated or corrected, please write to support@kitarecycle.com or drop a WhatsApp message to 012 618 0082 with the correct/updated information required in order to complete migration of your membership information to the new KITARecycle platform.
RECYCLING POINTS (RP)
1. How do I earn KITARecycle Recycling Points(RP)?
Every registered member of KITARecycle will be assigned a unique QR code with a series of numbers that identifies the user, just like a membership number.
To collect Recycling Points (RPs) under KITARecycle, members begin by segregating general waste from recyclables and place recyclables in a package with the member’s unique QR code or membership ID pasted onto the recyclables package and showing clearly on the package for collection.
Recyclable items can be dropped off at the nearest
KITARecycle facility. Please also note that SWM Environment cannot be held
liable for recyclables taken by scavengers before the scheduled
collection.
For more information on the location of KITARecycle recycling cages nearest to you, drop a WhatsApp message to 012 618 0082 or email support@kitarecycle.com.
Once recyclable packages have been successfully collected, they would be sent to SWM Environment’s segregation centre to scan, weigh and record the type(s) of recyclables collected – the information will be transferred into the KITARecycle system that would convert and award the RPs accordingly into the member’s KITARecycle account.
2. Does Recycling Points (RP) expire?
With effective from 2024, all new Recycling Points expire two(2)years from the date the points have been awarded in the system under the member’s account. The points will expire on a ‘first in-first out’ (FIFO) basis upon reaching two (2) years from when the points were awarded. For example, RPs awarded on 1st January 2024 will expire on 1st January 2026.
3. How do KITARecycle members review points collected?
To check on the status of latest recycling points (RPs) collected, KITARecycle members can log-in to the online portal at www.kitarecycle.com or download the KITARecycle App from Apple Store and Google Play Store. Some recyclable items such as e-waste have to undergo verification processes (e.g. such as checking that the e-waste are in complete set without components removed) and hence may take longer processing time before the points could be recorded in the system. Please drop an email to support@kitarecycle.com to check on processing status if the transactions for your recyclables do not show in the system after two (2) weeks.
4. How do I get the QR code for attaching to my recyclable packages before submitting them to the KITARecycle programme?
KITARecycle members may download the PDF to print their unique KITARecycle QR code from the “My Profile” section on the KITARecycle portal or app, or write down their full KITARecycle membership number that starts with “SWMxxxxxxxxxx” (under the QR code) clearly on paper or masking tape and tape it securely onto the package of recyclables.
